There are a lot of phobias and out of all those, pentheraphobia– that is fear of the mother-in-law is one of the most humorous ones that some people could have.

‘Penthera’ is a Greek term for mother-in-law and a phobia is another Greek term which means fear.

Several people suffer from different phobias from different objects like snakes, spiders, elevators, etc. These types of fears have nothing to do with any abnormalities, in fact, they live a normal life.

Most phobias develop due to some shocking or embarrassing past event that has great emphasis on one’s life. Phobias can also be genetically transferred and the person may suffer from this.

A person suffering from pentheraphobia may have several symptoms like extreme anxiety, sweating, panic, dread, discontinuity of speech, shaking, nausea and palpitations.

If it becomes very severe, some available treatments include energy psychology, Neuro-linguistic programming and hypnotherapy.
